Dwarka Expressway Projects
Dwarka Expressway or the Northen peripheral Road (NPR) was envisioned in Masterplan 2021 — known as the Northern Express Road or Northern Peripheral Road and undertaken by the Delhi and Gurgaon administrations — will cut down travel time between the two states. It stretches from RTR crossing (Dwarka side) and village Kherki Daula on NH-8 (near Manesar toll plaza). Residents of Dwarka, who at present have to hit the NH-8 in order to reach Manesar and beyond, would save the long detour once this 150-metre wide Dwarka Expressway comes up plus 30 mtrs green belt on both sides. Both Southern Peripheral Raod and Northern Peripheral Raod (Dwarka Expressway) will form a ring around Gurgaon allowing long distance inter-city and inter-state vehicular traffic to bypass the current Gurgaon expressway (NH8).
* 15 kilometres of Dwarka Expressway would have run through suburban Gurgaon and the rest 10 through Delhi.
* 242.55 acres of the total land acquired from 14 villages for construction of Dwarka Expressway.
* This Dwarka Expressway will be a minimum 8-lane high speed corridor with 2 to 4 service lanes on both sides.
* Offer a direct Delhi-Manesar connectivity
Status of Construction work of Northern Express Road (Dwarka Expressway) -
Demarcation work has been started from Kherki Dhaula village (Manesar side) and has been completed for12-15 km upto Dhankot village for Dwarka Expressway.
Loose soil has been poured to form narrow line on either side of the surface of the road. This is done just to make a clear and visible demarcation. The earth work to keep the surface above the ground level is also started on the Dwarka Expressway.
The stretch between Sector 103 and Sector 104 is almost finished of the Dwarka Expressway (as on October 2011).
How will the Housing Projects Benefit from Dwarka Expressway?
After MG Road and Sohna Road, the future of housing and other projects belonged to Dwarka-Gurgaon link road (Dwarka Expressway)
This Dwarka Expressway is all set to be a lifeline for major housing projects in Gurgaon-Manesar.
The 26 new sectors (99 to 115 and 58 to 67) were developed first along this Dwarka Expressway only.
Though to come in Phase III, Metro rail is likely to take Dwarka-Gurgaon link route (Dwarka Expressway) making it another prominent Metro Corridor linking IGI Airport and other townships including Dwarka.
Construction by India Bulls Real Estate -
Tender for construction of Dwarka Expressway awarded to Indiabulls Real Estate by HUDA at a cost of Rs. 43 Crores.
Bids were received from three groups namely Gawar Constructions, Kundu Constructions and Indiabulls Real Estate for the Haryana portion of Dwarka Expressway.
According to HUDA senior officials, the reserved price for construction of Dwarka Expressway was fixed at Rs. 57 Crores and Indiabulls bided the lowest – 24% lesser than the reserve price.
Indiabulls will have to complete the construction of Dwarka Expressway in 18 months from the date of allotment of contract.
